At biggerhouse film, we create award-winning dramas, documentaries, and animated films.
We aim to:
- Create a community of neurodivergent filmmakers and animators in the South West and South Wales…
- Contribute to the changing landscape of film by platforming the work of underrepresented creatives…
- Contribute to the discourse around accessibility and advocate for reducing barriers to access for people engaging in filmmaking…
- Create high quality films in collaboration with organisations seeking to raise awareness or work with communities…
- Tell the stories of those who otherwise might not have a voice…
OUR JOURNEY
biggerhouse film is a non-profit organisation founded by Stephen Clarke and Tom Stubbs who have been working together since 2000 with the broadcast documentary I Don’t Live Here for HTV, leading to the establishment of biggerhouse film. In partnership with Somerset Film, we launched JUMPcuts in 2009, an award-winning production company focused on films with and for people with learning disabilities. Our collaboration with 104 films, world leaders in disability cinema, began in 2017, producing the feature film The Dawn of The Dark Fox and the ongoing talent development programme Different Voices for neurodiverse filmmakers.
“My honest feelings – I have many colleagues with learning disabilities and I always find when they’re filmed you never really see them – quite often you see a script. I find myself wishing other people could just have a chat with them in real life and know them like I do. Watching this video I found myself captivated, you are amazing at what you do."
